Baseball summer league brings all the heat in local clubs

The Gauteng Provincial Baseball Council (GPBC) Summer League brought all the heat in an action-filled day at Edenvale Sports Ground on November 17.

Spectators came out as support when the U8 to 19 teams put on a show.

More action as the U19 Imps take on Indians Benoni.

Teams Imps Edenvale, Indians Benoni, Cardinals Boksburg, Raiders South West Gauteng, Dodgers Vaal, Mets Randburg, Southern Stars Alberton, Badgers Alexander, Palm Ridge, Red Sox Kempton, Acadeo Valhalla Pretoria and the ladies draft combination of different clubs participated on the day.

The results were:
• U8 – played to a tie
• U10, Imps 24 – Indians Benoni 19
• U12, Indians Benoni 13 – Imps 5
• U15 A, Imps 13 – Alexander 9
• U19, Imps 13 – Indians Benoni 14.

The Giants/Imps Baseball Club president Aneline Butler said the weather held well for two to three games on every diamond.

She also invited anyone willing to give the sport a try.

The first half of the season will end on December 8.
