Edenvale boxer secures second world title
Following his victory Malajika is on his way to achieving his goal of being a world champion in five different weight divisions.
It was celebrations all around when Edenvale boxer Ricardo ‘Magic Man’ Malajika secured a knockout victory and the IBO World Flyweight title.
Malajika of the Brian Mitchell Boxing Academy knocked out Jackson Chauke of Thembisa in the second round of the latter’s IBO World Flyweight title defence on March 1.

The duo faced off in the headline bout of the Palace Pandemonium Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace’s centre court.

Malajika, who is already the IBO World Junior Bantamweight champion, moved to the lower weight division to take on Chauke.
With these two titles under his belt, Malajika is on his way to achieving his goal of being a world champion in five different weight divisions.

Fellow boxer Tyla Promnick of Edenvale also had reason to celebrate after winning the opening bout of the tournament when she faced the Free State’s Emma Mohono.
The 20-year-old southpaw, who trains at the Alan Toweel Boxing Gym in Linden, steadily wore her opponent down with the referee stopping the fight in the third round after a steady barrage of blows during the opening bout of the Palace Pandemonium Box and Dine Tournament at Emperors Palace.
