The Panthers suffered a heartbreaking 25-22 defeat to Vanderbijlpark Mustangs in a thrilling league decider.

It was a day filled with bittersweet emotions for Edenvale Panthers Rugby Club when its first team took to the field for the final of the Valke Kestrel League.

Held on August 9 at Edenvale Sports Ground, the Panthers played against Vanderbijlpark Rugby Club’s Mustangs.

With both teams eyeing the coveted league title, the sports grounds were buzzing with excitement.

Although the Mustangs secured the first points of the game, the Panthers were quick to regain ground, asserting a healthy lead over the away team by the time the halftime whistle blew.

Once back on the field, the Mustangs were determined to make a comeback.

They capitalised on key opportunities that allowed them to slowly chip away at the score to turn the game in their favour.

In the final minutes, the Mustangs scored the winning try, sealing the fate of the game and walked away with a 25-22 victory.
