Glenrose Xaba sweeps the SPAR Grand Prix Series with dominant Jozi victory

She powered to another solo finish to clinch her fifth consecutive win in the 2025 SPAR Grand Prix series.

Glenrose Xaba once again proved her class and consistency as she stormed to victory in the 10 km with a time of 33 minutes and 33 seconds at the SPAR Women’s Challenge Jozi 2025 at Marks Park on October 5, crossing the finish line alone.

Her latest triumph not only sealed the win on the day but also crowned her the overall SPAR Grand Prix champion — claiming all five titles in this year’s series, a clean sweep that cements her as one of South Africa’s finest road runners.

Xaba’s performance in Johannesburg was nothing short of commanding. From the outset, she settled into her rhythm and pulled away steadily, leaving no doubt about the outcome. By the time she reached the finish, she was running solo — a fitting image for an athlete who has dominated every race in the series.

Irvette Van Zyl of Hollywood A/C claimed third in 34 minutes and 35 seconds, claiming a second finish on the podium.

For Xaba, this victory was more than just another win — it was the crowning moment of a flawless season: five races, five wins, and a well-deserved SPAR Grand Prix title.
