Ekurhuleni West coach Seaparo Ramaube celebrates national basketball success

Seaparo Ramaube, head coach of Ekurhuleni West TVET College basketball teams, leads the female team to national victory while earning a top position in the COSACSA National Basketball Committee.

Head coach for both the male and female basketball teams at Ekurhuleni West TVET College (EWC), Seaparo Ramaube, has had a highly successful year.

This includes a win in the College Sport Arts and Culture South Africa (COSACSA) Gauteng League, which runs for eight weeks and is followed by the TVET Knock-Out Cup Tournament.

Ramaube said winning the COSACSA was a great achievement, as last year both male and female teams only managed third place in the league.

“This year, the males were eliminated early in the TVET Knock-Out Cup, but the females went on to win the TVET Cup. A great improvement for the ladies, who lost in the semi-finals last year and were placed third overall,” he said.

After winning the league, Ramaube was appointed Gauteng Provincial head coach for the female basketball team again.

“We trained in Kempton Park for three weekends, then played in the COSACSA National Championships in Durban, KZN, from October 5 to 10.”

Ramaube said the team successfully defended their championship title, bringing back gold again.

“The trip also included elections for the COSACSA National Basketball Committee, where I was elected as the national chairperson.
