Scheffer makes LMS history

LMS tournament history was made when Cobus Scheffer collected six wickets from four overs, the highest ever in the Bedfordview LMS league.

The Rubber Duckz beat the DP Boys in the Bedfordview Last Man Standing (LMS) tournament over the weekend.

The Rubber Duckz beat the DP Boys by a colossal 99 runs at the Jeppe Quondam Club on Sunday, January 5.

LMS tournament history was made when Cobus Scheffer collected six wickets from four overs, the highest ever in the Bedfordview LMS league. The game, umpired by Craig Fox, started at 8am.

The Rubber Duckz batted first and were off to a flier when their opening partnership of Kallie Muller and Andre Van Rooyen achieved 82 runs from 59 balls.

Kallie Muller was dismissed after being caught and Andre Van Rooyen was dismissed LBW. The Rubber Duckz ended their batting after having scored 128 runs for six from 20 overs.

The DP Boys had 128 runs to chase but never gained any momentum, starting with the opening partnership of Justin Downs and Ruben Pillay scoring only seven runs.

Indran Naidoo and Ahkaash Babulall only managed two runs before Imraan Essa made 15 runs from the five balls he faced.

Cobus Scheffer had a man of the match performance and helped ensure the Rubber Duckz’s 128 remained out of reach for the DP Boys.

The DP Boys ended with 29 runs for eight after nine overs.
