Scott takes back-to-back national titles
Scott, in his Formula 1600, has dominated the 2014 championship, leading from the first round held at Zwartkops in March, by taking pole position and winning both heats.
Edenvale resident, Scott Temple, recently wrapped up the 2014 South African National Formula Ford 1600 championship.
The championships was contested over eight rounds nationally and the last round was held at the Zwartkops International Raceway on Saturday, November 1.
Scott, in his Formula 1600, has dominated the 2014 championship, leading from the first round held at Zwartkops in March, by taking pole position and winning both heats.
In addition, Scott also achieved the fastest lap.
He then continued to hold his lead throughout the season, taking nine race wins, securing five pole positions and achieving four of the fastest laps throughout the fiercely contested 2014 season.
Scott went into the last event with an 11 point lead.
After finishing the first race in second place, Scott had to achieve a mere two points in the second race to clinch the title.
In heat 2, Scott drove a strategic race by avoiding any risks and finished in a safe second place and secured the 2014 SA National title.
This is the second year that Scott has won a South African National title.
Last year he won the SA National Formula Vee Championship, with two rounds to go.
However, this year was a little more difficult and the championship title went down to the last heat of the last race of the year.
The prize for winning the championship was a drive in a Formula Volkswagen Championship car.
The Formula VW is a 2 litre, carbon fibre single seater race car similar to formula 3.
These cars are the fastest race cars contesting in South Africa.
