2015 Ekurhuleni Sports Awards nominations open

Nominations for the 2015 Ekurhuleni Sports Awards are open.

Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM) spokesperson, Mr Themba Gadebe, said nominations are open for individuals, clubs and organisations. Nominations have to be in by February 27.

“EMM is committed to recognise sporting excellence and reward those who represent Ekurhuleni nationally as amateur or professional sports men and women,” said Mr Gadebe.

Winners will receive coveted sporting awards.

“When we reward sports men and women, we are rewarding good health, patriotism, discipline, role models and greatness,” Mr Gadebe said.

He said nominations are for sporting achievements attained during the period, January 2014 to December 31, 2014.

Categories are Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Outstanding Sport Official, Outstanding Sport Administrator, disabled Sportsman of the Year, disabled Sportswoman of the Year, Junior Sportsman of the Year, Junior Sportswoman of the Year, Coach of the Year, Team of the Year, Sports Federation of the Year, Secondary Sport School of the Year, Primary Sport School of the Year and Sports Fan of the Year.

Nominations must be filled in on an official form and submitted no later than February 27 at any of the regional offices below:

  •  Southern Region: Sports and Recreation offices, Germiston Stadium, Delvelle Road North, Germiston.
  •  Northern Region: Sport and Recreation offices, Plane Road, Kempton Park.
  •  Eastern Region: Sport and Recreation offices, Room 117, first floor Springs Civic Centre, Springs.
