Glendower ladies win regional league

Glendower Golf Club’s women golfers won the Ekurhuleni Women’s Golf League section one.

The local team included Linda Weitz, Lezette Vermaark (captain), Sue Cunningham, Sandra Burnard, Janyne Marais, Colleen Francis and Sally Weideman.

The team took on Kempton Park at Glendower on July 19.

The teams consisted of six players each, divided into three pairs. Two players had to play their better ball against the better ball of two other players.

The Glendower golfers managed to bring home the trophy when they won section one in the Ekurhuleni Women’s Golf Sunday Betterball League.
