Edenvale victorious in cup final
'It was not an easy match and we were lucky to have scored.'
Edenvale U/17 soccer players celebrated victory in the cup final.
The match was held at the Bedfordview Italian Club on September 20.
Edenvale played against the Corinthians.
“It was tough match. We have played against Corinthians twice this year. We manage to beat them on both occasions,” said the coach, Byron Daniels.
He said the opponents matched his team in all departments on the field.
“It was not an easy match and we were lucky to have scored in the second half of the game,” he said.
Coach Daniels said the Corinthians goalkeeper was in fine form, saving numerous goals. The coach added that he was proud of Tebogo Thema for scoring the winning goal.
According to Mr Daniels, his team is now focusing on the league and they hope to secure a double.
