Great performance from swimmers

Swimmers from the Aquatic Academy Edenvale recently took part in the Eastern Gauteng Championships.

The event was held in December 2016.

The swimmers competed under the ESP banner and swam well in the Eastern Gauteng Championships.

At the event, ESP placed fourth overall out of the 27 listed teams that took part.

The dates of the school water polo championships clashed with the championships, leaving the academy short of eight swimmers.

Despite this, the academy swimmers won 72 top eight places (finalists).

The individual medal winners from the academy were:

•  Kyle Mckenzie, winning two gold and four silver medals.
•  Savannah Mitchell, who earned two silver medals.
•  Nicholas Smith, who won two bronze medals.
•  Mikayle Pon, who won two bronze medals.
•  Ashleigh Stock, who won one bronze medal.
•  Jessica Burgess, who won one bronze medal.
