50th event for Gillooly’s Parkrun

The run is 5km long and accommodates people of all ages groups.

The Gillooly’s Parkrun celebrated its 50th run on March 18.

Over 1 100 park runners and walkers made their way to Gillooly’s Farm in the early hours to start the day with a fun run.

Event director Mrs Heidi Sutton said it was an exciting moment for the Bedfordview edition of the parkrun.

“On completing their 50th run, each runner received a free red T-shirt to celebrate the Gillooly’s edition reaching 50 runs,” said Mrs Sutton.

She said entrance to the parkrun is free and it takes place every Saturday from 8am.

The run is 5km long and accommodates people of all age groups.

It is also a timed run.

“Not everyone is a runner. We welcome walkers, parents with prams and doggies too,” said Mrs Sutton.
