Edenvale karate students excel

Karate students from the Brian van der Bijl School of Karate recently took part in the SA JKA Gauteng Karate Championships.

Sensei Brian van der Bijl said the students who participated did well and achieved their SA JKA Gauteng colours.

The championships were held at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg.

He said the students will now represent Gauteng in the national championships in May

The dojo won 12 medals in all.

If the students do well at the SA Championships they could be chosen to compete for the SA JKA national team.

The national team will compete at the Funakoshi Gichin karate world championships in August.
