Modderfontein runners do well at Comrades

The runners, who are regular participants at the Modderfontein weekly time trials, finished this year's Comrades Marathon.

Sixteen runners from the Modderfontein branch of the Nedbank Running Club took part in this year’s Comrades Marathon.

The runners, who are regular participants at the Modderfontein weekly time trials, finished this year’s Comrades Marathon.

Two of the runners, namely Kevin Mill who finished in a time of 11 hours 30 minutes and Yilun (Teddy) Wang who finished in 11 hours 47 minutes, were novices.

Glen Pellew of the Modderfontein club said the club’s best performer was Best Ngwenya, who runs for the Nedbank Running Club Gauteng North.

“He finished at number 22 overall, with a time of six hours four minutes and six seconds. Five of our athletes, namely Rabelani Mudau, Jose Bates, Bonokwakhe Gumede, Mdu Ncube and Leon Botha, completed their back-to-back Comrades,” he said.
