The senior semi-final was a closely fought match, with the Edenvale side eventually triumphing over Brakpan Mines, winning by a single shot.

The finals followed a similar pattern.

Rimmington and Head secured a comfortable win over Tienie Gerber’s Alberton team, while Gladwin and Hartwell had to dig deep before overcoming Colin Jones’ Atlas team.

After playing the regulation 21 ends, both sides’ scores were level.

This meant an extra end (the bowls equivalent of a penalty shootout) had to be played.

Edenvale scraped home by winning this deciding end.
