Despite the efforts of the u-16 players from the Johannesburg Police Rugby Club, the Wasps player scored a try.
Skills were tested and fun was had by all who participated in the Edenvale Wasps 15-a-side rugby tournament.
The tournament, which was held on July 1 at Edenvale High School, saw 660 players taking part.
Johanne Joubert, chairperson of the Wasps, said the players came from clubs affiliated to the Golden Lions Rugby Union across Gauteng.
“The tournament was all about giving players some game time before the league starts at the end of July,” said Joubert.
Although the tournament saw the teams battle it out on the field Joubert said the day was not competitive but focussed on development and fun.
He said everything went to plan and no serious injuries occurred at the tournament.
