Bulldog and General to go toe-to-toe in Edenvale

Community members can look forward to watching Emmany “The General” Kalombo and Nkululeko “The Bulldog” Mhlongo face-off against each other.
The two boxers will fight on March 23 at the Edenvale Community Centre.

The announcement of the fight was made at the centre on March 13 by Real Steel Promotions’ promoter, Andre Thysse.

Mhlongo, with almost 11 years’ experience, five losses and 12 knockouts under his belt, confidently said he would win the match against the less experienced Kalombo.
Kalombo, who began his boxing career in 2015, has a record eight wins and no losses
“I am not a nanny. I won’t change anyone’s nappies. I have experience and I have power,” said Mhlongo.

“I have boxed against power and experience. I know what I can take and what I can deliver.”
Gert Strydom, Mhlongo’s trainer, said although the Bulldog has a slow start, he defeats his opponents in the later rounds.

“I know he’s ready. Mhlongo will be blazing on all cylinders.”
Damien Durandt, the son of late Nick Durandt and trainer of Kalombo, said although Mhlongo has experience “he needs to go out because it’s time for new blood.”

“I am not scared of the dog [Mhlongo]. I will prove what I am capable of,” said Kalombo.
