Real Athletes Tennis Academy train top players
Previous top players such as Chanel Simmonds and Damian Hume have trained at Rata.
The Real Athletes Tennis Academy (Rata) of Bedfordview Country Club (BCC) had its weekend tennis training on April 28.
Head coach Earl Grainger said Rata is a high-performance academy where top tennis players like Chanel Simmonds and Damian Hume have trained.
Grainger said that Rata has top players nationally in the u-12 and u-15 female groups.
“We have players in every age group in the top 10 in South Africa,” said Grainger.
Rata trains seven days a week with 10 high profile coaches providing training, and has a major following with players and coaches in tennis in South Africa.
Tennis chairman at BCC Demetri Capripi also trains at Rata.
Capripi is currently playing league tennis in Germany for TC Raadt Tennis Club in the over 60s age group.
