Local Karatekas to compete in commonwealth games
Sensei Michael Roetz, who is director of coaching for KSA, is very proud to have so many participants selected from his dojo.
Students of the Michael Roetz Karate Institute were selected to compete at the upcoming Commonwealth Karate Championships.
The karatekas from Edenvale were selected for the Durban Championships after they received their Protea colours.
Marinda Roetz, Justin Baynes, Claudia Dobson, Renstia Roetz, Nicole Virgili, Reece Baynes, Chaceita Grobler and Sensei Michael Roetz all received the Protea colours.
Additionally, karatekas Jared Wade, Leo Hambardzumyan, Anthea Wade and Mary Hambardzumyan, are set to receive their National Karate South Africa (KSA) colours
Only the top four ranked athletes per division in the country were selected to receive Protea colours.
