Uphill battle for Jeppe Marathon runners
Bedfordview Athletics did well in the marathon having their very own Professor Ncube coming in third place in the 42.2km.
All roads led to the Jeppe Marathon 2019, previously known as the PnP Marathon, in its 15th year, which took place at Saheti School on February 10.
The marathon included the exhausting 42.2km, the half-marathon of 21.1km and the 4km and 8km fun run.

The marathon and half-marathon were limited to 6 000 entrants.
The route for the 42.2km race is a two-lap around Bedfordview and Edenvale and is the last chance to qualify for the Two Oceans Marathon and the Comrades Marathon.
The marathon was a strenuous race with the route having multiple uphills, which proved to be difficult for many runners.
Mnandi Bus Training Group trainers were also present in the marathon, helping runners along the way.
Mnandi Bus trainers serve as motivators during the race for runners who want to finish the marathon in specific times.
The runners will run along the trainer in a group to make it to the finish line in the hours they would like to complete the race.
Mnandi Bus trainers also help runners beat their previous times.
Leswene Africa Mailola from the Nedbank Running Club came in first place for the 42.2km race at 2:25:09, while Admire Muzopambwa from Legends Athletic Club came in second with a time of 2:31:32.
Bedfordview Athletics did well in the marathon having their very own Professor Ncube coming in third place in the 42.2km.
Ncube finished the marathon in a time of 02:34:24.
Grant Morgan, Bedfordview Athletics committee member and participant of the Jeppe Marathon, said that Ncube made Bedfordview Athletics extremely proud.
Rand Water Athletics Club’s Mbongeni Ngxazozo came in first place for the 21.1km race in a time of 1:07:36.
Donald Mashamaite from Bedfordview Athletics came in fourth place in the 21.1km in a time of 1:10:13.
