Future Kids trials underway for 2020

Berea-based Future Kids Football Club’s head coach Brian Manyara (36) said it is that time of the year when the club selects players to represent Future Kids team.

He told the EXPRESS that this year’s focus is to get players fit for the 2020 games.

Future Kids team coaches are focused on improving players’ fitness for the new season.

“I am happy to announce that 2019 was a good year for Future Kids club. Our focus now is to get new talent that will represent the team well. These trials are important for the future of this team. It’s a chance to see how dedicated and disciplined the players are.

“I want them to always show commitment on the field of play.”

The EXPRESS spoke to young player Ethan Phiri (13) who plays left back.

Phiri expressed his pride on being a part of the team and he is excited to be back for a new year of challenges.

“Future Kids Football Club has been good to me and my fellow teammates. We are ready to take on tournaments that will be taking place this year.

“We will be welcoming our new teammates selected from these trials. Our main focus this year is taking trophies at every tournament and making sure that we are always on top of our games,” said Phiri.

Future Kids team will meet their rivals starting this month in upcoming matches.
