Yoeville’s Caps Football Club proved to be the superior opponent when they defeated the Premier Football Club 6-4 in what was a 10-goal thriller.

The match took place at the Rhodes Park Sports Grounds on Sunday, August 3. Caps FC controlled the tempo of the game and dictated the play from the kick off.

Caps FC scored two goals in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

This early setback did not dampen the spirit of the Premier FC side. Through patient build ups and good passing and play, Premier FC managed to score two goals before the end of the first half, making the half time score 2-2.

It was a second half of intensive football with good, accurate shooting from both sides. Caps FC were the more clinical side in the beginning of the second half as they scored three goals in the first 20 minutes of the second half.

With the momentum in hand, Caps FC scored two more goals in a space of two minutes, taking the score to 6-2.

Premier FC had to restore their pride and their coach made two changes in the final 15 minutes. The substitutions paid-off as Premier FC managed to score two consolation goals before the full time whistle. The game ended in a 6-4 victory for Caps FC. @bedfordjourno
