Iconic stars at Sacred Heart festival

Sacred Heart will be hosting multi-platinum artists, Lira, legendary Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse and international SAMA & BET award winning DJ Black Coffee at their annual Music Festival hosted by Kaya FM 95.9 at Sacred Heart College on September 24.

“The festival will begin with the Hearts into the Future Family Cycle Ride (an official Freedom Ride) at 9.30am. It will include a children’s entertainment area, food vendors and music to entertain the whole family,” said Sacred Heart College marketing coordinator, Mrs Lynn Walker.

“Families are invited to bring a picnic basket to the festival or take advantage of the delicious food on sale and enjoy Heritage Day while listening to a musical celebration of African music,” said Mrs Walker.

“The iconic Sipho ‘Hotstix’ Mabuse will enthral the audience with his chart-topping hits. SAMA award winning artist Lira brings her Afro-Soul music to the festival. The first South African to win the BET Best International Act – Africa Black Coffee brings resounding beats to the festival. Legendary DJ Bob Mabena and Mo-G from Kaya FM will compère the festival.

“RISE Academy DJs will also be on the decks in support. The evening will wrap up on a high note with Kaya FM’s The Rhythm Session DJs on the decks. Lots of children’s entertainment and a dedicated entertainment area for three- to six-year-olds with child-minders will be offered on the day,” said Mrs Walker.
