Edenvale artist has his heart set on changing the music industry

“I hope to bring sounds from all over to create the unique Dollaway sound.”

Edenvale born artist, Dean Holloway or “Dollaway” has had a passion for music ever since he was young.

The 24-year-old has dedicated 16 years of blood, sweat and tears to his passion in the hopes of making an international name for himself.

Along his journey he has had the opportunity to work alongside the likes of AKA, Da Les, Musa (2012 Idols winner), RJ Benjamin and Danny K.

Even though Dollaway has worked with other musician, he hopes to be recognised for his own talent.

In order to do this he has performed at numerous festivals including Vaal Hip Hop Festival, Braam Beach Party, Nicci Beach and H2O’s Octopia.

Although he is mainly self taught, Dollaway has the ability to rap, sing, write songs, compose beats, beat box and produce hits.

Dollaway said even though he has the ability to produce any type of genre, he finds he’s drawn to adding more of a hip hop, RnB, rap, trap, reggae and festival style to his compositions.

The young artist explained his time in the public eye has not ended on the stage. He has also been featured in the Izkipani magazine to complement his release of Coco Money.

Dollaway has recently compiled and started producing his first mix tape, Model D, which has a hip hop and RnB influence.

He hopes to release his next hit single, Squad Goals, soon.

Dollaway said in the future he hopes to go international and change the music industry.

“I hope to bring sounds from all over to create the unique Dollaway sound,” he said.
