District high-density operation hits Bedfordview
28 440 ml of liquor confiscated by police during a high-density operation in Bedfordview.
The Bedfordview SAPS collaborated with various stakeholders and conducted a high-density operation for a safer festive season on November 29.
The operation concluded in the early hours of November 30.
Led by station commander Colonel Wellington Mathiane with Captain Moloi acting as the operational commander.

It focused on roadblocks, drug enforcement, vehicle control points (VCP), liquor trading compliance checks, and high visibility and saturation patrols.
According to the station’s spokesperson, Sergeant Lillian Modiga, 12 hotspots were visited during the operation including ATMs, petrol stations, malls, spaza shops as well as taxi ranks.
“A liquor outlet was closed for non-compliance and the owner was arrested for trading without a license.
“Twelve undocumented persons were taken into custody and four traffic fines to the amount of R2000 were issued,” she said.
28 440 ml of liquor were also confiscated during the operation.
