The matter will resume in June.

A man (35) from Heidelberg, the second accused in a human trafficking case involving two minor girls, was granted R20 000 bail at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court on April 24.

The offences happened between 2022 and this year. At that time, one girl was between 13 and 14, and the other was even younger.

The first accused is a woman (38) from Margate.

The man and woman face charges of trafficking in persons, rape, conspiracy to commit a sexual offence, aiding and abetting another person to commit a sexual offence, sexual grooming of children, sexual exploitation of children and compelling or causing children to witness sexual offences.

Additionally, the woman is charged with keeping a brothel and living off the earnings of prostitution.

The woman, alleged to have run a brothel from a guesthouse in Boksburg, appeared in court on April 12, where the matter was postponed to June 14.

Her co-accused will make his third court appearance alongside her.
