Amersfoort Police in Mpumalanga arrest ANC Chief Whip in connection with corruption

“Mr Shabangu appeared in the Amersfoort Magistrate’s Court on 18 December and was remanded in custody,” Brig Augustine Mngomezulu said.

The Amersfoort Police apprehended ANC Chief Whip in connection with corruption relating to RDP houses on 18 December, Standerton Advertiser reports.

“Mr Obed Thulani Shabangu (41) was arrested at his home,” Const Thuli Zwane, communications officer, said.

“Mr Shabangu appeared in the Amersfoort Magistrate’s Court on 18 December and was remanded in custody,” Brig Augustine Mngomezulu said.

He will return to court on 20 December for a formal bail application.
