Cook and Culture is a local blog and column that shares recipes, tips and tricks with the community bi-weekly and has quickly exploded into a striking and shining beacon of information and trends. There has been so much fun to share with the community, and the cook and culture team, Annelette and Sunel, decided to share their favourite ideas with Best of Ekurhuleni Readers.

Annelette is Generation X and a media specialist at Caxton. Her early career started off in fine art and graphic design and she has a passion for entertaining, cooking and baking. She is not only a successful businesswoman but also a loving mother of two. She believes in keeping life balanced and exciting and loves a good home remedy but also believes in the power of science. She is always game for a live show and theatre performance. Her exceptional work ethic inspires those around her and her energetic personality brings light to a room.
Sunel is a millennial and is currently completing her Honours degree in BA Drama. She worked at the Boksburg Advertiser as a journalist and is currently working as a performing artist. She writes, directs and performs in her own productions and also explores fine arts. Sunel believes in doing what you love and pursuing your dream. She is inspired by her community and believes that there is art in everyone and everything.
How it all came about.
Cook and Culture has been a treasure in the Boksburg Advertiser since November 2018 and the team has shared many tips and tricks with the community. Cook and Culture is now also available on a online blog on the Boksburg Advertiser and Benoni City times websites. The team also shares weekly tips and events on Caxton Radio. Annelette and Sunel met at the Caxton East Rand office and quickly became good friends. What started off as a short and sweet home remedy tip, quickly snowballed into a Bi-weekly column with tips, tricks and a dash of sass. Cook and Culture is a fun and informative column for both men and women of all ages, for the left and the right brain readers, there is something exciting and special for everyone!
