Centre points sport in the right direction

Local sports clubs are scoring big as East Point Shopping Centre donates R10 000 in equipment through its Connect To Give WiFi campaign to support the Advertiser’s Be a Sport initiative.

East Point Shopping Centre has reinforced its commitment to community development with a R10 000 donation of sporting equipment towards the Boksburg Advertiser’s Be a Sport initiative.

These items will be donated to local rugby, soccer and boxing clubs, including Boksburg Rugby Club, East Rand United, Absalom Tete FC and Thunder Boxing Academy.

The donation was made possible through East Point Shopping Centre’s “Connect To Give” WiFi campaign, an initiative that allows shoppers to give back simply by connecting to the centre’s free WiFi.

When customers log on, they are presented with an advertisement and a portion of the revenue generated is donated to local community causes.

“We believe sport plays a vital role in building strong communities, especially among young people.

“Through Connect To Give, even everyday activities like using WiFi can help make a meaningful difference,” said Donald Mclellan, marketing manager at East Point Shopping Centre.

The Advertiser thanks East Point for the generous donation to the development of local talent.
