Support young soccer players' UK dream
Three young Black Ball United stars are heading to the UK for the Mina Cup and it is a dream trip made possible by a community fundraiser that began as a fight against cancer.
Three young Black Ball United players from Reiger Park have the opportunity of a lifetime: a trip to the UK to compete in the Mina Cup.
This is thanks to a local fundraiser that united the community to help cancer patients.
AIM, a European club searching for youthful potential, scouted 24 South African youths, including the three boys. They joined Black Ball United when they were eight and are now in the U16 division.
To reduce some of the immediate expenses associated with flying abroad, organisers and parents used the money raised from the cancer fundraiser to provide the travelling trio with toiletries and bags.
The players will travel with Coach Muzi Masuku, who has mentored them since their early days at the club.

From July 10 to 19, the boys will compete internationally to showcase their abilities to foreign clubs and scouts.
To allow the boys to concentrate on the football and proudly represent their club and community, club officials thanked everyone who contributed to the fundraising.
Black Ball United says more donations would be appreciated and urged local companies and those in the community to support the boys.
