FOLLOW-UP: Identities revealed in Brakpan North murder-suicide
Cases of murder and an inquest docket have been opened.
The man who allegedly killed his two young children in Brakpan North on Saturday evening and then took his own life has been identified as Johannes Jacobus Brandt (40).
The children have been identified as Ryan James Brandt (nine months) and Ruan Desmond Brandt (4).

The children were strangled and their father’s body was found hanging from a tree.
The children’s mother is Nikita Venter. The family were residents of The Love Ones of God.
