Stone and Becker win memorial cup at Reading

They won the competition by 42 points to claim the March honours of the club’s monthly competition.

The Ekurhuleni Senior Women’s Golf (ESWG) chairperson, Charmaine Stone, teamed up with Martie Becker to clinch the memorial trophy during the club’s monthly competition at Reading Golf Club in Alberton on March 6.

Stone and Becker walked away with the trophy and 45 points, beating the team of Renè Mathee and Lorraine Cross, who scored 45 points counted out.

Some 68 ladies from various Ekurhuleni golf clubs took to the green to compete for the trophy as they continued their preparations for the 29th National Women’s Senior Championships in East London in May.

Stone thanked the ladies for their continued support and said the turnout on the day impressed her.
