Man’s body found on roadside near Brakpan North

A man was found dead with visible injuries at the intersection of Main Reef and Hospital roads.

The body of a man believed to be in his 30s was found at the intersection of Main Reef and Hospital roads near Brakpan North on June 26.

According to police information, an officer on patrol was alerted to the discovery at about 08:30 and responded to the scene.

It was found the man had visible bruising to his hands and chest, as well as a wound to his face.

The officer contacted Gauteng Emergency Medical Services and the relevant personnel at the Far East Rand Hospital for the declaration of death.

Brakpan SAPS has opened a murder case and is investigating the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
