New choir performs well

The recently formed Brakpan High School Choir has participated in the district eliminations of their very first South African School Choral Eisteddfod (SASCE).

The choir managed to obtain a first position in the HIV/Folklore song and the SATB African piece.

“Basically we are the district champions of 2013 in this category,” said the principal and choir master Lucky Nkopane.
The choir went on to their maiden provincial competition and managed second position.

“The best thing about this achievement is that the choir managed a second position out of 12 districts, thus representing the Gauteng East District with pride,” said Nkopane.

“We have managed to form a solid choir and a promising band that will host a concert in September this year.”
