Weekend crime round-up (October 11, 12 and 13)

According to information received from Brakpan police, the following crimes were reported over the weekend:

* Friday

Two burglaries were reported.

Jewellery, a computer, television set and other household items were stolen from a home in Stoffberg Avenue, and a television set, laptop and games console were stolen from an address along Muir Avenue.

* Saturday

Three cars were stolen.

A black Toyota Conquest was stolen from the Chaarl Bard Stadium and a blue Mazda Midge was stolen from the Indoor Sports Centre.

A white Toyota Conquest was stolen from Stoffberg Avenue.

Burglars stole tools and a welding helmet from an address along Stoffberg Avenue.

A home in Liefland Street, Sonneveld, was broken into, but nothing was stolen.

The burglars were disturbed when the homeowner woke up.

A wallet and a cellphone were stolen from a home in Northdene Avenue.

* Sunday

A white Toyota Tazz was stolen from Pienaar Street, in Brenthurst.

The car was later recovered in Vosloorus.

A male motorist was robbed while stopped at a red traffic light along Voortrekker Road, at 4.45am.

The man was stationary, waiting for the lights to change, when an armed man opened his door.

He pointed a gun at the man’s face and demanded his bank card.

The robber fled with cash, a cellphone and a car radio.
