In its efforts to reduce inconveniences experienced by residents as a result of ongoing load shedding  around the country, the Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has amended its load shedding schedules.

“When Eskom declares stage one or two load shedding, which is controlled by municipalities, the latest schedule that is now available on the website will be the one that the municipality uses in implementing load shedding in Ekurhuleni” said metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe.

The newly designed schedules respond to complaints received from residents over the past weeks, stating that the previous schedules were not favorable to all areas and that some residential areas did not appear on the schedule.

The schedule can be accessed from the municipality’s website on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za/load-sheddings

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and encourages residents to use electricity sparingly.

The schedule printed in last week’s Herald (Friday, December 12) is no longer applicable.
