Parents’ worst nightmare: hijackers strike while children are in the car

Two young children and their parents were hijacked outside their Leachville home on Tuesday night.

According to information received from Brakpan police, the hijacking took place at an address along Punda Maria Street, at about 8.30pm.

Two hijackers, both of whom were armed, approached the family’s white BMW and ordered the man to get out.

One of the hijackers then searched the man, taking his wristwatch, wallet and a computer tablet.

The other hijacker pulled the woman and the children, aged three and five, from the car.

The hijackers then both got into the vehicle and sped off.

Brakpan police are investigating.
