Five houses broken into over the weekend

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan Police over the weekend (June 12, 13 and 14):

Friday

A house was broken into in Bertram Street, Sherwood Gardens, and another in Olga Mitchell Street, Anzac.

Jewellery, a TV set, kettle, dinner plates and groceries were stolen.

A car, parked at the corner of Prince George Avenue and Gardiner Street, was broken into.

A car radio and a petrol card were stolen and, just as a case of theft was opened, the victim received a SMS that notified her that her petrol card was used after it was stolen.

A car parked in Grey Street was also broken into, as was another one in Hamilton Street; sunglasses, a GPS, CD bag, electrical appliances and a car radio were stolen.

In Sherwood Gardens, a house robbery occurred. Jewellery, wallets, cellphones, laptops, a Playstation 3, two TV sets, a computer, sound system, a vehicle and other items were stolen.

Saturday

In Grant Street, Sherwood Gardens, a housebreaking occurred; the suspect fled the scene, stealing nothing, after the house owner pressed a panic button.

A house was broken into in McCullum Avenue, Sherwood Gardens, where a bicycle, cellphones and other items were stolen.
