Man will spend time in jail after death of 73-year-old woman

A 59-year-old man who was accused and found guilty of culpable homicide will spend 18 months in prison.

Simanea Petros Nhlebele was sentenced in the Brakpan Magistrate Court recently.

Nine months of his sentence was suspended for four years.

Nglebele was involved in a collision which occurred in 2009, on the corner of the Old Location and Hospital Road, when a 73-year-old woman, who was driving a Granada, was killed.

Nhlebele’s driver’s licence was also suspended for 12 months, as from the day of conviction.
