Police weed out drugs at rehab centre

The Brakpan SAPS, Brakpan CPF, EMPD and police patrollers conducted a thorough search for drugs at the Witpoort Treatment Centre on Wednesday.
Although no big successes were recorded on that day, some drugs were confiscated and Capt Joep Joubert, spokesperson for the Brakpan Police Station commander, said the police are committed to combat drugs and that more searches will be carried out in future, at various locations in Brakpan.
“We want to send out a clear message to drug users and drug dealers: we will not tolerate drugs on our streets and we condemn any use or selling of drugs,” said Joubert.
Joubert added that anybody with drug-related tip-offs, or schools that would like their pupils to be searched, should contact him on 011 744 4940.
