EMPD find drugs hidden in man’s hat

Two men charged with possession of illicit substances at the Brakpan Police Station.

The EMPD Equestrian Unit arrested two men found in possession of illicit substances during a stop-and-search operation in the Brakpan CBD yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

According to EMPD spokesperson Lieut-Col Wilfred Kgasago, a man in his early 30s was stopped at around 2pm along Hyland Street.

“One ziplock bag of crystal meth was found in his possession,” he said.

“The other man, a 28-year-old, was found with three ziplock bag of dagga.”

This man was arrested along Prince George Avenue and the dagga had been concealed in his beanie hat.

Kgasago added that the two are suspected to be users and it is hoped they will lead police to ‘the big fish’.

The pair were charged with possession of illicit substances at the Brakpan Police Station.
