Hawks arrest three Brakpan SAPS employees

The trio face fraud and corruption charges.

The Hawks in Gauteng arrested three Brakpan SAPS employees yesterday morning (Wednesday) for allegedly defrauding the state of R37 000 in false overtime claims.

The mastermind, who works at the station’s finance department, allegedly created overtime claims for himself, his wife and his sister-in-law.

The women also work at the Brakpan Police Station.

The trio, aged 33, 37 and 44, was arrested while on duty and they will appear in the Brakpan Magistrates Court today (Thursday) on charges of fraud and corruption.
