Vote for your favourite boerewors
The number of contestants was whittled down to just three finalists.
South Africans will have an opportunity to vote for the country’s best boerewors when the top three recipes from this year’s Championship Boerewors competition become available in all Shoprite and Checkers stores nationwide, between August 19 and September 9.
A country-wide search to find South Africa’s best boerewors began in May, with hundreds of hopefuls entering their special recipes for consideration.
Through various judging rounds, the number of contestants was whittled down to just three finalists, who will now go on to the Championship Boerewors Competition finale on Thursday, September 15.
Customers will be able to buy a combo pack containing all three recipes, braai it, and vote for their favourite recipe by dialling the USSD code marked on each combo pack.
The boerewors recipes of Jacobus Olivier Kritzinger, Winter Reaobaka Letlhogile and Vukile Vincent Cele impressed the panel of judges from the South African Chef’s Association throughout the competition, and they will now compete for the votes of ordinary South Africans in the lead up to the Championship Boerewors competition finale.
The top three finalists are all vying for the bragging rights as SA’s No.1 Boerewors Champion as well as a chance to win a brand new Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD-6 Double Cab Raised Body Raider.
