One person has died and at least 13 people have been injured after a taxi overturned on the R23 in Brakpan, this morning (Tuesday).
According to Athlenda Mathe, media liaison officer for Netcare 911, the accident happened at about 6.20am.
“All injured sustained moderate to minor injuries and one man was declared dead on scene,” said Mathe.
“The injured were stabilised on scene by paramedics from various services and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.”
The exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
UPDATE at 10.22am: It has been confirmed that another person, a woman, has also died.
