Weekend crime round-up
A man, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, was declared dead on the scene by paramedics.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:
• Friday (28 October) – A home along 15th Road, in Sallies Village, was broken into.
Cash, a pair of boots, a DVD player, speakers and a set of car keys were among the items reported to be stolen.
A black Mazda 3 was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

• Saturday – Two residential burglaries and one business burglary were reported.
At a residence along Rooidoring Street in Dalpark, a laptop was burgled.
A television set was stolen during a break-in at a home along Springs Road, Rand Collieries.

Steel doors and other items were stolen from a workshop situated along 16th Road, in Witpoortjie.
Police later arrested three suspects in connection with the crime, after the doors were recovered by workshop employees at a local scrap metal dealership.
The body of a man (age unknown) was found inside a shack at Mkhankwa Village informal settlement.

Police were called to the settlement at about 7.20pm.

A case of murder is being investigated.
• Sunday – Three men robbed a shop situated along George Troskie Street, in Minnebron.
The men entered the shop at 7.45pm and pointed firearms at staff and customers.
They took cash from the tills and cartons of cigarettes.
The robbers also threatened customers outside of the shop and forced one woman inside the store, after demanding the keys to her car.
