Weekend crime round-up

Three robbers confronted a business owner and his family members outside the premises.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

• Friday – A cellphone and groceries were stolen during a break-in at a residence in Hope Avenue.

Wheels were stolen from a truck parked at an address in Springs Road, Denneoord.

A home in Gert Bezuidenhout Avenue, Minnebron, was burgled and a television, games console and a satellite TV decoder were taken.

• Saturday – A workshop in Goods Road was burgled of electric tools and other goods.

A white Toyota Corolla was stolen from the parking area of the Brakpan municipal swimming pool, at the corner of Park Street and Gardiner Avenue.

A man was robbed of his cellphone by armed robbers in Eric Holdtman Avenue, Minnebron.

Three robbers confronted the victim, a business owner, and his family members outside the premises at about 9pm.

One of the robbers was armed with a gun and grabbed the victim’s cellphone.

The victim then ran to a nearby entertainment venue, where he sought help.

The robbers fled in a blue Volkswagen Polo.

A laptop was stolen from a residence in Germains Avenue.
