Don’t leave valuables in your car

Six cases of theft from motor vehicles have been reported to the local SAPS over the past week.

Brakpan police have urged residents not to leave valuables in their vehicles, following a sudden spike in cases of theft from motor vehicles.

Six cases have been reported to the local SAPS over the past week.

The incidents took place at addresses along Joubert and Duncan streets, in Brenthurst, Springs Road, in Rand Collieries, Gerrit Maritz and Somerset avenues, in Dalview and Abercorn Avenue.

Items stolen from the vehicles include tools, jewellery, personal documents, cash and golf clubs.

Residents are advised to remove their valuables from the vehicle or ensure the items are kept out of sight or in the boot.
