The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (January 18 to 19):

Cases reported:

• Speeding: 5
• Reckless driving: 1
• Business robbery: 1
• Common assault: 2
• Residential burglary: 3
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Business burglary: 1
• Theft: 4
• Pointing of firearm: 2
• Shoplifting: 2

Arrests:

• Speeding: 5
• Rape: 1
• Warrant of arrest: 1
• House robbery: 1
• Theft: 1
• Pointing of firearm: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 2

Business robbery:

• A shop in Voortrekker Road was robbed by four men yesterday (Thursday).

The robbers, two of whom were armed with guns, entered the shop at about 11am and ordered the staff to lie down.

They fled with cash and numerous cellphones.

Burglary:

• Voortrekker Road (business).

The shop was burgled on Wednesday.

Stolen: Cash, jewellery and electronic goods.

• Boundary Road, Brenthurst.

The home was broken into yesterday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Porter Avenue.

The break-in took place yesterday.

Stolen: A TV, laptop, cellphone and other valuables.

• Taft Avenue.

The burglary occurred yesterday.

Stolen: Speakers and four TVs.
