Police hunt gunmen who tried to hijack mom and kids
Brakpan police have issued identikits of two men wanted for attempted hijacking.
The pair tried to rob a woman of her brand new Hyundai Tucson on Tuesday, March 13.
The victim (40) was confronted by the men when she arrived at her mother’s house along Davy Street in Minnebron at around 7pm.
Her two children, aged 12 and 17, were in the vehicle, which she had only just collected that afternoon.

“I picked up my children at my house, also in Minnebron, and we drove to my mother’s house,” said the woman
“I stopped in front of my mother’s house and waited for her to open the gate.”
The woman explained that a vehicle drove past, stopped behind her and two men armed with guns jumped out of the car.
“One of the men ran to me and pushed a firearm against my stomach,” she said.
“He said in Afrikaans that I had to hand over my car’s keys.
“I told him I would do it, but only when my children were out of the car.”
The man then attempted to grab the keys from her and she started screaming for help.

Neighbours emerged from their homes and the gunmen retreated to their vehicle, a white Toyota Fortuner, and drove off.
Both men are between 30 and 40 years old, spoke Afrikaans and were described as aggressive.
