The following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the past 24 hours (May 21 to 22):

Cases reported:

• Theft: 8
• Business burglary: 1
• Robbery with firearm: 1
• Theft from motor vehicle: 1
• Contempt of court: 1
• Assault GBH: 1
• Tampering/damaging infrastructure: 1
• Dealing in drugs: 2
• Culpable homicide: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 2
• Theft of motor vehicle: 1
• Reckless driving: 1
• Residential burglary: 2
• Attempted murder: 1 (domestic incident)

Arrests:

• Possession of drugs: 1
• Theft: 1
• Possession of stolen property: 4
• Dealing in drugs: 1

Armed robbery:

• A male commuter was robbed of his belongings in a taxi on Sunday.

The victim was threatened with a gun shortly after boarding a white Toyota Quantum along Springs Road,  Rand Collieries, at about 5.30pm.

There were about four other occupants in the vehicle, including the driver.

The victim was searched and robbed of his jacket, two cellphones, cash and bank cards.

Burglary:

• Elsburg Road, Dalpark (business).

The break-in took place on Sunday.

Stolen: A TV.

• Boven Street, Leachville.

The home was burgled yesterday (Monday).

Stolen: A laptop, cellphone, Bluetooth speaker and passports.

• Dennis van der Byl Street, Minnebron.

The burglary occurred on Saturday.

Stolen: A TV, amplifier, DVD player, laptop, jewellery and other household items.

Theft of motor vehicle:

• A Volkswagen Polo (colour and model not provided) was stolen from an address along Gloucester Road in Kenleaf on Sunday.

Theft from motor vehicle:

• A spare wheel was stolen from a bakkie parked along Escombe Avenue yesterday.
